the steel beam
Many of our museum quality artifacts have had quite a long journey, salvaged from unforgettable moments in time.
They tell the story of our American industry and invention. We enjoy making sure the truth is cherished and preserved for generations to come.
Our mission is to showcase a variety of some of the best collections from local makers that share the same aesthetics: designs that are thoughtful, purposeful and creative with exceptional quality.
The steel beam is dedicated to honoring the craft of Handmade. It’s what we’ve been doing for 6 years at our previous Bethlehem, Main Street location. Now in our new space, we have the square footage to offer/host workshops in a non-intimidating, empowering, inspiring environment for creative learning and problem solving.
We work to preserve an art nearly lost to the tides of mass production. Though our medium is often precious metals, we’re inspired by all things iron and steel, from blacksmithing to industrial forges…from architecture to engines. We embrace tools and techniques used for centuries. Shaped by firing, hammering, sawing, riveting. Forged one at a time, original, one of a kind, small batch, custom designs of enduring quality and beauty that will be handed down for generations.
Custom jewelry, One of a kind Engagement & Wedding rings, Custom Designed jewelry. Custom Design Bridal Gowns, Bridal Alterations & Accessories. Alternative Brides.
We interweave historical underpinnings, modern culture, quality craft and design into all we do. We provide a modern, fresh approach to boutique, retail shopping and gallery-like experience by attentively curating authentic museum quality industrial artifacts, an ever-evolving selection of hand-crafted, small batch as well as one of a kind designs. Our name is inspired by the old industrial Bethlehem Steel skyline, we aim to celebrate America’s unique industrial history and honor the past through our creations. Handmade by local artisans as well as our own designs made in house remain central to our offerings. Our hope is we create objects of enduring beauty, they become heirloom pieces that our customers will treasure for years to come.
