Fashion Illustration 101

SKILLS LEARNED:

• How to sketch fashion figures and poses quickly, learn shortcuts with simple lines representing body.
• Work out ideas, inspirations, concepts and detailing through sketch and illustration.
• How to convey different fabrics, textures, weights using washes and movement lines.
• Design terminology and description.
• We will be referencing fabric rendering techniques taught by my teacher at Parsons School of Design, Bina Abling and her instructional fashion illustration books.

PROJECTS: Create Croquis: A Fashion Design Sketch Book

SUPPLIES: A Sketch book, Mechanical pencils, watercolor or gouache and colored pencils.

PREREQUISITES: None (Recommended Reference Book: Bina Abling – FASHION SKETCHBOOK)
