Bethlehem Steel Company Shipbuilding Division Embroidered Baseball or Trucker Hat

Bethlehem Steelwas a cornerstone of American industrial leadership and the primary engine for the Allied cause during two world wars. The company was the world’s largest shipbuilder and second-largest U.S. steel producer, building a vast arsenal of planes, tanks, guns, and ships, including landing crafts for the D-Day invasion. During World War II, Bethlehem achieved a remarkable manufacturing feat by building over 1,100 vessels and producing an astounding 73.4 million tons of steel for the war effort. At times launching more than one ship per day, this output was instrumental in turning the tide for victory, reinforcing the United States' role as "the great arsenal of democracy," and standing as a symbol of American manufacturing leadership in the world.
